Embrace the New You!

Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 3:13-14

Many us of have a past we may not be proud of.

Many of us wish we can take away some of the things we have done.

Many of us wish we apologized and made a wrong right.

Many of us wish we can simply erase who we were.

I have felt this way too. However, when I chose to give my life over to my Lord and Savior, I made a conscious effort to let things go. Holding on to them, was holding me back from all GOD had in store for me.

Of course, this is not to say we can flip a switch and our past will be gone. Your past; however, will no longer define who you are, if you choose not to let it. Who you were, does not have to get in the way of who GOD wants you to be.

Philippians 3, beginning at verse:13, reminds us that we should be on a lifelong path of becoming more like JESUS. When we gave our life over to Christ, our spot in eternity was secured, if we were sincere. Sincere, not only in what we were doing, but sincere in believing who HE is.

We must believe we are indeed a work in progress, and GOD will take HIS time to get us right. In the meantime; however, we have to embrace who we are, and that is a child of GOD. Are we a perfect child of GOD? No, but we are HIS, and that is what counts. Being HIS means, we are blessed, covered, and favored.

If HE can turn HIS back on our past, then why can’t we. If HE tells us, I love you just as you are – why should we allow ourselves to be judges by others?

If you are truly a child of GOD, that is the only title that matters. So, go on now my brother and sister in Christ…and “Embrace who you are!”. Go on…do it!!

Look at you!  Doesn’t’ that feel good!?! Yes LORD, walk in that glory! Now that is what I am talking about!!

Well Hello Saint! It is so nice to meet the NEW you!

In his service,

Minister Marshall
