God of a Second Chance

“I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.  Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.  You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.  Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.  For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night but rejoicing comes in the morning”. Psalm 30:1-5

I titled this blog after one of my favorite songs, “Second Chance”, by Hezekiah Walker & The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. This is a beautiful song, as it ministers just how merciful our God is. HE is always showering us with his love and grace, and we know we can count on him.

Lord, I’m tired of the way that I am,

In your love I want to live instead

To heed to Your every command,

For you’re the God of a second chance,

For you’re the God of a second chance.

Although I find myself singing this song often, I know that my GOD has given me more than a second chance. HE has given me a second, third, fourth, fifth….and many chances. HE continues to forgive me in the face of my shortcomings.

As Christians, our hearts should be filled with as much “compassion”, that GOD has shown us. We must learn that GOD loves us through our imperfections, and HE wants us to love others through theirs. GOD loves us so much that he refuses to allow us to be lost. HE wants to build us up so that we are strong and unafraid. HE has provided us with all the tools to live the life HE wants us to live, and every time we fall short, HE gives us chance after chance after chance!

Oh, what a second chance GOD we serve! We are truly a blessed people!!!!

Forgive me and make me strong.

Oh, save me, restore my song.

For You’re the God of a second chance,

For You’re the God of a second chance.

You gave me a second chance.

You forgave me like only You can.

You gave me a second chance, oh.

Let us go into this week with appreciation in our hearts. Let us remember that we are loved and cherished by the best, and if HE can love us in our fallen state – we can surely spread HIS love to others.

Thank you, LORD, for loving me…… just as I am!

In his service,

Minister Marshall
