His story through your testimony

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13

Every Sunday morning our congregation is asked to share their testimony. This is an old tradition that I have quickly fell in love with. It warms my heart to hear my brothers and sisters in Christ to share all the wonderful things GOD has done, and is doing in their lives.

Once one testimony is shared, it creates a domino effect and the testimonies begin to flow. Ahhh, what a beautiful thing to witness. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry, but all the time I am in awe of just how busy our GOD is.

As I stood before the congregation this Sunday morning, with my own testimony in my heart, something occurred to me. I realized how easy it is to share the goodness of GOD with our fellow Christians. Like with most things in life, when we are in the company of others like us, sharing becomes second nature.

I wondered why it does not appear to be this easy with those who are not like us. Those who do not believe in the goodness of GOD. You know, those who have been beat down repeatedly by life, and find it difficult to believe in anything. The one thing that many people like this can count on is the heartache and heartbreak they have become accustomed to. As uncomfortable or “unnatural” it may feel, these are the people we need to share our testimonies with.

To share our testimony, especially with those who do not believe, is to give honor and glory to GOD. It is also an opportunity to give hope to the hopeless, joy to the joyless, love to the loveless, and light to those engulfed by darkness.

I know we are living in a time when all seems lost. As Christians; however, we know all is not lost. We know who GOD is and what HE is capable of. After all, HE shows us repeatedly just how capable HE is. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”. Hebrews 11:1.

Sometimes we are the closest people will get to GOD. What better way to convince someone that GOD is real – than to tell His story through your testimony.

God bless you!

In his service,

Minister Marshall
