“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.” Psalm 34:17-20
Like many of you who may be reading this, I lost someone to breast cancer too. It was my mother: Debra Ann Miller. She was only 51 years old! From the date of diagnosis to the day she went on to be with the LORD, was a span of a year. That was way too fast for something that may have been caught and treated.
As such, I will use my space today to remind my sisters and brothers that yearly mammograms are essential to catching and subsequently treating breast cancer. Only GOD knows who will beat it, only GOD knows who can fight it, but we should do our part to take care of ourselves.
No matter how busy you are, no matter how may obligations you have, no matter how tired you may be, take the time and schedule your yearly mammograms. There are facilities that offer mammograms for free, so the lack of insurance does not have to be an issue. Thank you, JESUS!!
You also want to know your history. For example, my mother was diagnosed at 50, I began my mammograms at 35, and my sister will start hers even earlier. Cancer has claimed way too many lives and we must stand up and fight back. Are you with me!!!
We must fight with our knowledge!
We must fight with education!
We must fight with early detection!
We must fight with proper treatment!
We must fight with sisterhood!
We must fight with brotherhood.
And most importantly, we must fight with prayer!
Today, stand with me and salute the Warriors in Pink! The ones who stood up, fought back …. and won!
Today, stand with me and salute the Warriors in Pink! The ones who stood up, fought back ….and lost their lives!
They did not lose the battle because when you are a child of GOD, you do not lose, you win. They did not lose, they won, and transitioned to be with the LORD!
Today, I dedicate this space to all my sisters and brothers who stood up against breast cancer! Keep standing!!
I have been blessed to know many breast cancer survivors who were truly an inspiration to me.
May GOD continue to bless them and keep them. May GOD cover and bless those who are living with a diagnosis. Know that standing with GOD, means standing with an army behind you. You too can fight this! Do not give up! Do not give in! Fight! Fight! Fight! We are right here fighting with you and for you!!
May God Bless You,
In His service,
