“But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36
Have you ever suffered a great tragedy in your life? One that shattered everything you hoped for into small pieces. And when you found the strength to begin putting the pieces together in one area, another area fell apart.
Going through something like this makes it hard to focus on the good things in your life. It makes it difficult to believe that GOD is in your corner working things out for you. In fact, you can get so involved in your problems, that you completely miss or underestimate your blessings.
More specifically, GOD may give you something that you wanted for years. Something you prayed for long before tragedy hit your life. A time when you believed in answered prayers. During a time when things were better in your life, and your faith was stronger. Now, it feels like a lifetime to go.
However, it finally happened. TO GOD BE THE GLORY! It happened, but you cannot recognize it for what it is. You do not recognize it as an answered prayer! Your answered prayer! Sadly, but understandably, your pain is so big it is blinding you to everything else. You cannot recognize your blessings and answered prayers, because they seem so small considering the big things going wrong in your life.
Sometimes, it is that one small thing that GOD does that will be the catalyst needed to change the course of everything else in your life. It is the provisions that comes with this one blessing, that will give you the vision to see the rest. Perhaps, it is that one thing that GOD gave you, just to remind you that HE is there. It could be the one thing GOD gave you to let you know that HE was always listening to your prayers, and even amid your greatest tragedies, HE will still show up for you. Perhaps, it is the one thing HE gives you to open your eyes, so you can witness the other blessings that are coming your way.
While it may be difficult to see all the pieces of your life coming together right now, I encourage you to focus on the one piece that GOD has put in place for you. If you focus on that one piece, and recognize it as the most important piece, then the rest will fall in place.
I know it is hard to narrow your focus when so much is going on around you, but you can do it. I know because I did it!
As bright as the end of the tunnel looks, it still appears to be so far away. But if you appreciate the journey to the end of the tunnel, you will find all the tools you need to be truly happy when you get there.
Trust GOD and all that HE does in your life along the way. We all want to see ourselves in one place, that happy place, but sometimes we must make pitstops along the way. The pitstops are used to prepare us for our destination. You will get there! I promise you. Just do not forget to recognize GOD’s blessings while on your journey.
May God bless you!
In his service,
