Speak up Speak Out Speak Openly!

“As each has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of GOD.” 1 Peter 4:10

Shortly after I opened my Business “Unspoken Courage”, I began using the hashtag #SpeakupSpeakoutSpeakOpenly. As an Advocate for sexual assault survivors, this hashtag was used to motivate them to share their experiences. I named my business with this same thought in mind. There is courage in our voices when we speak up about what happened to us, speak out to those who are willing to hear us, and to speak openly about our assault because we have nothing to be ashamed of. Once we own it, we control it, and can use it move past it!

This weekend, I attended a two-day writing summit for aspiring and published authors. It was one of the most profound summits I have ever attended. I had no idea how informative and impactful a virtual summit can be. I am so glad I signed up as I was pleasantly surprised and inspired! It was absolutely phenomenal. I shared on social media that it was signed with purpose, sealed with promise, and delivered with a punch. That is how I felt once it ended!

Consequently, this summit added additional meaning to my hashtag. You see, we all have something to say. We all have something to give to the world. We all have stories to tell. This is nothing new coming from me, right? I have shared this in my previous blogs, shared in posts on social media, shared with my clients, and also shared it from the pulpit while ministering to the congregation. In other words, I have shared this in some form on all my platforms.

However, as an aspiring writer, the same holds true. We must get the word out because when we do, it releases us from whatever hold our stories had on us. From a spiritual lens, we know that sharing our struggles, and testifying to GOD’s grace as He brings us through, not only help others, but it blesses us, and gives GOD the glory HE deserves. Amen!

The WORD says in 1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of GOD.” The gifts GOD gives us is not only for us, but they are also for others as well. Irrespective of how that gift unfolds in us, we need to give it to the world. When GOD cultivated this gift in us, HE knew it would be used to help others. What a mighty foresight our GOD has! HE would not have blessed you with it if HE did not want you to bless others. Think about it!

So please, Speak Up, Speak Out, Speak Openly. “Speaking” can be used as a metaphor to describe your gift.

If you are a writer, write! If you are a singer, sing! If you are a musician, play! If you are a dancer, Dance! If you are an artist, create that masterpiece! Just express yourself, share your story, and impact the world.

Speak up! Speak Out! Speak Openly!

May God Bless you,

In His Service,

Minister Marshall
