“So, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”Matthew 24:44, NIV
My husband and I were eating dinner after church yesterday when my phone alerted me to breaking news. We learned Kobe Bryant and his young daughter died in a helicopter crash. He was 41 years old, and his beautiful daughter was only 13. JESUS!! What a sad day! There were others who died in the helicopter crash as well. Oh, my heavenly Father, look over these families who suffered such great loss!
My thoughts and prayers are going out to Kobe’s wife, and his other children. We lost a great man and a wonderful ball player. But his wife lost a husband and a child, and his children lost their father and sister. As my thoughts went to this young man and his family, I thought about how short life is. How, in an instant, the curtain will close on our lives. One day we will close our eyes for the last time.
We do not know when our time will come, but one thing is certain…it will come. We must be ready!
Many of us will have our finances in order. Many of us will have our homes and businesses in order. Many of us will have all our affairs in order. But how many of us will be ready? How many will be ready to join the LORD?
I pray for Kobe Bryant’s family, and the family of those that were taken from us yesterday. I ask GOD to wrap his loving arms around them. Let them know they are not alone Father. Although their pain is great right now, let them know JESUS will be their comforter. JESUS will walk with them and carry them when the burden becomes too much to carry. Cover them LORD! Cover and hold them close JESUS! Hold them! Amen!
I ask everyone who is reading this, to understand that anyone can be taken from us with no warning. We can also meet our fate with no warning. Are you ready? Are you ready for the day when GOD calls you home? Are you saved? Do you know JESUS?
If not, seek HIM now before it is too late. “So, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:44, NIV
When the curtain close on your life, are you ready for the next scene?
God bless you,
In his service,
